Our story
Who we are
The Utah Civic Learning Collaborative (UCLC) officially launched in January 2021, building on significant momentum from three “Place for All“ annual conferences for K–12 teachers and stakeholders (academics, nonprofit partners, education leaders, students, and policymakers). Those convenings featured professional development and national expertise on promising practices to help teachers align teaching with the robust civics angles embedded in the Utah State Board of Education’s Secondary Social Studies Standards Revision (2016–17).
Mission
The UCLC is an informal alliance of educators and educational leaders, nonprofit and academic partners, parents, policymakers, and others dedicated to preparing all youth for civic life.
Vision
The generation coming of age strengthens our democracy and makes civic life better for all.
